Don’t be Afraid to Make Mistakes

Life is a Journey

“Anyone who has never made a mistake has never tried anything new.” – Albert Einstein

Whenever we try anything new, we might make some mistakes. We can’t possibly know everything that’s going to happen when we try something new. Sometimes we just have to try something before we can learn about it.

It’s okay to make mistakes

Mistakes are a part of life. As Einstein said, the only people who don’t make mistakes are those who don’t try anything new.

If there’s something you have a burning desire to do, don’t let the fear of making mistakes hold you back. Of course if what you’re trying to do is life-threatening or a career-risk, you’ll want to take every possible precaution to avoid making mistakes. But after you do that, be bold and just do it. And if you make a few mistakes, at least you can learn from them; at least you’ll be farther along than you were before.

“If you want something you’ve never had, you must do something you’ve never done.” – Unknown

We are a mere blip on the timeline of existence. Life existed long before we came here and it will continue long after we’re gone. You were only given one life to live and only you can make the most of it. No one else can make you take advantage of opportunity; it’s up to you to muster the courage to embrace it.

You are not a perfect person.

When you make mistakes, don’t let that affect you. And if someone doesn’t have nice things to say, just tell yourself that it’s none of their business in the first place. Sometimes it takes courage to stand up for what’s right for you; it’s your happiness that matters. Don’t let fear stop you from following your heart.

Life is a learning lesson and the best way to learn is to always try new things. You’re going to have your share of mishaps but you’ll have more opportunities to gradually perfect yourself like an artist. And when things don’t work out as you expected, at least you can tell yourself that you tried your best.

In what ways are you following your heart? Feel welcome to share your thoughts in the comments.
